Amy Barron Killed, Masika Robinson Injured in Covington Pedestrian Accident at West Street and Cannon Street
Covington, Georgia (October 9, 2019) – One of the two women who were injured in an alleged hit-and-run accident Monday night in Covington has died, according to the authorities.
The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on October 7, at the intersection of West Street and Cannon Street.
Police said Amy Barron, 39, of Social Circle, and Masika Robinson, 36, of Covington, were trying to cross West Street when a vehicle came over the hill and struck them.
The vehicle then left the scene after the accident.
Barron was found lying in the roadway and was airlifted to WellStar Atlanta Medical Center in critical condition, where she later died. Robinson was taken to Piedmont Newton Hospital with minor injuries.
The authorities are looking for the suspect.
